C&MA Logo (emblem) and its Meaning (https://cmalliance.org/)

The church emblem is divided into five parts:

1. Cross – Represents Christ, the Savior.

2. Laver – Symbolizes Christ, the Sanctifier. In the Old Testament, priests washed their hands in the laver before making offerings, signifying purification.

3. Pitcher (or Oil Flask) – Represents Christ, the Healer. The pitcher symbolizes the act of anointing with oil and praying for healing.

4. Crown – Symbolizes Christ, the Coming King. The crown represents Jesus returning as the King who will bring judgment.

5. Globe – Represents the mission of world evangelization, inspired by Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The first four symbols represent the Fourfold Gospel, and the globe in the background signifies the commitment to spreading this message to the ends of the earth, fulfilling the mission of global evangelism.

The Fourfold Gospel

1. Jesus Christ, the Savior

This doctrine can be summarized in three main points:

(1) The Desperate Human Condition Without Christ

Humanity is in a state of inevitable destruction without Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Since Adam’s sin, all humanity has inherited a sinful nature, and as a result, death became a universal fate. This death manifests in three ways:

- Physical death, the end of earthly life.

- Spiritual death, where sin separates people from God, the source of life.

- Eternal death, which follows the final judgment, where those who reject Christ are eternally separated from God in hell. Hebrews 9:27 affirms, “It is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment.”

(2) Faith in Jesus as the Only Path to Salvation

The Fourfold Gospel holds that no other way leads to salvation except faith in Jesus. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6). This truth was proven through His miracles, perfect life, and resurrection. Apostle Peter also declared in Acts 4:12, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

(3) Eternal Life as the Reward of Faith

Those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came in human form for the salvation of mankind, and who died on the cross as foretold in the Old Testament—then rose again on the third day—receive forgiveness of sins and escape destruction. By accepting Jesus as Savior, believers are transformed from slaves of darkness into children of God, experiencing heavenly blessings in this life and ultimately sharing in eternal joy with Christ in heaven after the resurrection.

2. Jesus Christ, the Sanctifier

This doctrine is summarized in four key points:

(1) Sanctification as God's Will and Command

Sanctification is God’s purpose and command for all believers. Though we still carry sinful nature, through faith in Jesus, His righteousness is imputed to us, and we are declared righteous before God. However, God calls us to go beyond this declaration and truly transform into holy beings, living a life that reflects His holiness.

(2) The Beginning of Sanctification: Self-Reflection and Awareness

True sanctification starts with a deep self-reflection on one's sinful nature. It begins when one earnestly strives to meet God's expectations but realizes human effort alone is insufficient. As Romans 7:24 states, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?” Those who rely on their own righteousness cannot attain sanctification.

(3) The Holy Spirit as the Agent of Sanctification

Sanctification is accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within believers. Though we are incapable on our own, when we surrender our lives to the Holy Spirit, He cultivates the fruit of the Spirit in us, practically transforming our character and lifestyle. A sanctified life is a daily reliance on Christ, growing into His likeness, and ultimately reaching His perfect image.

(4) Sanctification as Both a Crisis Moment and a Gradual Process

The experience of sanctification can be both an instantaneous transformation—when one fully dedicates oneself to God—and a gradual, step-by-step progression in partnership with Christ. While there may be a decisive turning point, sanctification continues as a lifelong journey of spiritual growth.

3. Jesus Christ, the Healer

This doctrine is summarized in four key principles:

(1) Healing as Part of Christ’s Atonement

Jesus’ redemptive work includes healing from physical illness. Isaiah 53:5 states, “By His stripes, we are healed.” Throughout the Old Testament, God declares His healing power: “I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26). During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed many who were sick.

(2) The Power of Healing Passed to Christ’s Followers

Jesus imparted the authority to heal in His name to His disciples. First, He granted this power to the twelve apostles:

“Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness… Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:1,8). This authority was also extended to the leaders of the Church.

(3) Healing as Both a Promise and Command from God

God instructs believers to pray for healing. James 5:13-16 says:

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

(4) Christ’s Healing Ministry Continues Today

Jesus remains unchanging—yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He still heals the sick through His followers. A.B. Simpson defined divine healing as:

“God’s supernatural power working in the body of a believer, supplying new strength, and replacing weakness with the life and power found in God.” (Fourfold Gospel, p.44). This blessing abundantly flows to those who exercise faith in healing ministry and submit to God in trust.

4. Jesus Christ, the Coming King

This doctrine is summarized in three key points:

(1) Christ Will Return as the Judge

Jesus’ earthly ministry concluded with His ascension, as testified by His disciples:

“After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.” (Acts 1:9).

He is now with the Father, but He will return. The angels proclaimed:

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11).

Unlike His first coming as a humble baby in a manger, His second coming will be in power and authority as the Judge of all.

(2) The Connection Between World Evangelization and His Return

No one knows the exact time of Christ’s return. However, He provided a clue:

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14).

It is certain that His return is imminent, and world evangelization is closely tied to His coming.

(3) Urgency to Spread the Gospel Before His Return

Once Christ returns, the opportunity for salvation will be gone. Therefore, believers must be committed to evangelism and missions, ensuring that as many people as possible receive salvation before His arrival. The church's mission is expressed as follows:

“Let us fulfill the mission of preaching the Gospel to the ends of the earth, thereby hastening the return of Christ in this generation.”
