The forest is surrounded on all sides by small streams, making the humidity high and turning it into a paradise for mosquitoes. So I came prepared with long sleeves and long pants—but these little creatures still seemed delighted with me, touching my face, head, and neck without restraint. Since it had been a while since my last visit, and because it had rained often, I walked the trails with high expectations, thinking many good mushrooms would have appeared. Yet everything that caught my eye turned out to be poisonous.

I gave up and kept walking when suddenly something white appeared before me. Looking closely, I saw a cluster of Cauliflower mushrooms—the first I’ve encountered in years—greeting me. Ah, the Lord is indeed the Giver of grace; once again today, He did not let me be disappointed.
