So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12, English Standard Version)

Dear students,

As we arrive at Friday of Week 5—and remarkably, at the very last day of July—we stand at a meaningful intersection of time, responsibility, and spiritual reflection. The Lord invites us, through the psalmist, to consider our days carefully, not to burden us, but to awaken us to wisdom, purpose, and faithful stewardship.

In our course, the 4MAT Book Report is now only two days away, and many of you are still carrying the weight of unfinished work. I know this may feel overwhelming. But Scripture reminds us that wisdom grows not in avoidance, but in faithful steps taken one day at a time.

Time is one of God’s most gracious gifts, yet also one of the most easily squandered. When we delay, distractions multiply. When we hesitate, discouragement grows. But when we take one courageous step forward, the Lord strengthens the next.

Today—this final day of July—offers you a fresh moment of grace. A reset. A turning point.

Let me encourage you:

(1)   Do not let unfinished work define your weekend.

(2)   Do not let fear of falling behind rob you of clarity and peace.

(3)   Do not let the enemy whisper that it is too late.

Instead, choose wisdom. Number this day. Honor it. Use it well.

If you have any missing assignments, pick them up and complete them. Then move faithfully toward the 4MAT Book Report. You will be surprised how much strength the Lord provides once you begin.

Remember: God does not ask for perfection—He asks for faithfulness.

And faithfulness begins with one step taken today.

With pastoral encouragement,

Prof. Kim
