Now the woods in our neighborhood are fully clothed in the colors of late autumn. I love this season’s palette. An all-green forest can feel a bit stifling, and one that is overly colorful can quickly become overwhelming. But this gentle harmony of green mingled with autumn hues brings a calm and quiet joy to my heart.
Since we will soon be leaving for a trip, my wife and I came to visit this forest one last time today. The leaves on the ground have dried, shedding their former brilliance, and they rustle softly beneath our feet. That sound—this is the sound of autumn. Farewell.
